Northern Arizona Family Engagement Session

When you are first starting out in photography, you say yes to everything.  I teach my students that it is OK to do that for a while, because it accomplishes two things.  1. You learn what you love and want to continue to do and 2. You learn what you don't ever want to do again.   For me, what I love and will always want to capture.... is families.  Family photography is what I do, but it's also who I am.  And I know for a fact that being a mother has a lot to do with that.  Here's the thing... as cliche as it sounds and as often as we say this, the fact that it's all going by so fast is still true and becomes truer every second.  Capturing the moments that matter is my calling, it's what I'm meant to do.  I do it for my children, for myself and for my clients.

So, if you are just starting out and you are booked solid with cake smashes, newborn sessions, fall sessions, mini sessions, boudoir sessions, engagement sessions, bar and bat mitzvahs, senior sessions, weddings, extended family sessions, posed work or documentary work..... it's all OK.  Because let me assure you, you will discover VERY quickly who YOU are as an artist, just like I did.

And let me tell you right now, family sessions like this one make my heart sing.  And that's why I have the best job in the world.
