Week 35 | This Is Us.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about concept of FAMILY.  What it means to others and what is means to me.  A seemingly simple idea to many, but in reality,  more complex and diverse.  And that's OK.  It's not going to look the same to everyone.....and that's one of the most beautiful parts.

Growing up, my family was a mess.  Ultimately, many of my childhood and teenage experiences with family made me want to be better once I had my own children.  If I've learned anything from my past, it's that life is comprised of things you have control over and things you don't.  You know when they say you can't choose your family.  Well, that's only 50% true.  But I learned a long time ago to choose love and leave toxicity behind.

So, what does family mean to me?  I can sum it up in one word.  LOVE.

This. Is. Us.
